Addressable Market

We project a large market potential of $120M+ annual revenue at ~20% market penetration (USAF/DoD sales excluded) across the following six market segments:

  • COMMERCIAL AIRLINES

  • Regional Airlines

  • Part 25 BCA

  • Part 23 BCA

  • Military Operations

  • Firefighting Operations

Each market segment is discussed briefly below.

Commercial and Regional Airlines

These markets comprise owners/operators of the approximately 24,000 heavy- and medium-weight passenger- and freight-carrying Transport Category airliner and cargo aircraft that are currently flying in the world. These aircraft are certified under FAR Part 25. More than 1,500 aircraft in this segment are produced and enter service each year.

Transport Category is a category of airworthiness applicable to large civil airplanes. Although there are some very large transport category aircraft (like the 747) that are used by very wealthy people as “business jets” in non-commercial operations, the numbers are very low. The principal owners/operators of heavy- and medium-weight transport category aircraft are: Major Passenger Airlines, Regional Passenger Airlines and Air Freight carriers.

Part 25 BCA and Part 23 BCA (Business/Corporate Aircraft)

Owners/operators of the 35,000 light- and medium-weight Business/Corporate aviation aircraft that are currently flying in the world. The heavier aircraft are certified under FAR Part 25 and the lighter aircraft are certified under FAR Part 23. More than 1,200 aircraft in this segment are produced and enter service each year.

Within this segment, the most popular Jet is the Cessna (Textron) Citation and the most popular Turboprop is the Beechcraft (Textron) King Air. Our retrofit marketing activities will center on owners of these 2 aircraft.

Military and Firefighting Operations

Our research and analysis of accident and incident data identified three leading operational challenges to properly managing energy during military and firefighting operations.

  • Tactical Take-offs and Landings

  • Automation Complacency

  • High Task Loading

An Air Force evaluation of the system concluded the following:about Q-Alpha’s applicability to the military market.

  • The system shows very clear potential for Government commercialization

  • The system demonstrates a solution that would clearly fulfill or meet defense needs

  • The system demonstrates a highly logical and complete technical approach, soundness, and innovation with a highly qualified team behind it

We project more than 700 Q-Alpha sales in the military and aerial firefighting markets over the next five years
